I had the great opportunity to see Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin last night at the Eisemann Center. Their show is constructed to tell a story with various songs from Broadway. And it is absolutely incredible.
The set has minimal lighting (various lamps with no shades), a fantastic pianist and a bassist, two chairs, and two glasses of water. However, Patti and Mandy's performance is enough to feed your mind with all of the wonderment of where they are in the process of their story. I'm one of those people that would prefer to read a book because the movie doesn't do it justice for what my mind has built the characters and scenery to be. 'An Evening with Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin' is the book of stage preformance. Seriously. Incredible.
